Abstract

In January-September 2024, trips by domestic tourists (wisnus) to South Sumatra reached 12.87 million trips, an increase of 60.16 percent compared to the same period in 2023. Throughout this period, the highest number of trips by foreign tourists to South Sumatra occurred in April 2024 which reached 1.85 million trips. Meanwhile, foreign tourist trips from South Sumatra reached 13.64 million trips, an increase of 75.43 percent compared to the same period in 2023.
The Room Occupancy Rate (TPK) for star hotels in September 2024 was 52.36 percent, a decrease of 0.32 points compared to the previous month's TPK which was recorded at 52.68 percent. When compared to the same month in 2023, the TPK for star hotels in September 2024 also decreased by 2.50 points. Meanwhile, the ROR for non-star hotels in September 2024 was 20.17 percent, down 0.02 points year-on-year (y-on-y) and also down 0.13 points month-to-month (m-to- m)
The highest ROR for star hotels in September 2024 occurred at 5-star hotels, namely 67.09 percent, and the lowest for 1-star hotels, namely 37.63 percent.

The average length of stay of guests (RLMT) at star hotels is higher than at non-star hotels. RLMT in star hotels is 1.33 nights while RLMT in non-star hotels is 1.13 nights
