Abstract

  • Farmer Exchange Rate (NTP) of South Sumatra in October 2015 amounted to 96.24 percent, indicating that in general the purchasing power of farmers in October 2015 decreased compared to the base year of 2012. However, when compared to the previous month, October 2015 NTP rose by 0, 54 percent due to the price index received by farmers increased while the price index paid by farmers has decreased compared to September 2015.
  • The South Sumatra Agricultural Exchange (NTUP) in October 2015 was 102.37 percent, indicating that in general farmers' purchasing power in October 2015 was better than the base year of 2012. Similarly, when compared to the previous month, NTUP in October 2015 increased by 0 , 13 percent.
  • Based on NTP and NTUP sub-sectors, in October 2015 the sub-sectors experienced an increase compared to September 2015, namely the food crops sub-sector, the horticultural crop sub-sector, and the fisheries sub-sector. While the subsectors that experienced a decline were the smallholder estate crops sub-sector and the livestock sub-sector
  • Rural inflation / deflation is indicated by changes in the price index of goods and services consumed by farm households. In October 2015 rural areas in South Sumatra experienced a deflation of 0.51 percent. Expenditure groups experiencing deflation are expenditure groups of food, housing, and transportation and communication.
