Tanjung Raya, an old village that is starting to be data literate

Tanjung Raya is a village in Belitang district. This village is the oldest village in Belitang. However, the old village seemed to be isolated as the road access to the village was increasingly destroyed.



In 2022 Tanjung Raya Village will be one of the samples of the Statistics Love Village (Beautiful Village). The BPS Beautiful Village Team for East OKU Regency immediately coordinated with the Village Head and his staff.



On August 1, 2022, OKU Timur District launched a Beautiful Village in all villages and sub-districts. The event which took place at the people's hall displayed the profile of the village of Tanjung Raya, which is in the process of implementing the Beautiful Village program.



The name Tanjung Raya became increasingly known when the Governor of South Sumatra held the Launching of Beautiful Villages in all Regencies/Cities in South Sumatra Province. Slowly the access road is being repaired. The existence of a palace that has a historical story began to be looked at and one of the historic buildings in East OKU Regency began to clean up and beautify itself.



The peak was on January 30, 2023. Tanjung Raya Village was selected as the 12 best Statistics Love Villages in Indonesia. The award was handed over by the Minister of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform accompanied by the Head of BPS RI. Also present to receive the award was the Head of Tanjung Raya Village accompanied by the District Head of East OKU Regency.



This award is proof that the old village named Tanjung Raya has begun to be data literate. This is evidenced by the existence of the Tanjung Raya Publication in Figures, infographic boards that adorn the walls of the village office and the existence of the Tanjung Raya Village website.
